Lord mayor Nicholas Reece is dismissing concerns pro-Palestine protesters impacted the New Year’s Eve celebrations last night after a group of protestors walked along Swanston Street.

He told 3AW Mornings the group was small and failed to disrupt the celebrations

“They may have tried to take the gloss off but they did not succeed … I was walking the streets of Melbourne last night and what I saw was hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people, smiling faces of Melburnians out having a great time,” he said.
