E-scooters are beginning to be removed from Melbourne streets as the ban comes into effect, with Lord mayor Nicholas Reece remaining steadfast he’s made the right call to end the program.

Lime and Neuron have been spotted rounding up the bikes in the CBD on Monday, with the ban to come into effect from Wednesday.

Lord mayor Nicholas Reece told Jacqui Felgate it was “absolutely” the right decision to remove the hire scooters from the city.

“It wasn’t an easy decision (to remove the scooters),” Mr Reece said on 3AW Drive.
