Local Kinglake residents have expressed their concern for their safety as vision emerges of a truck dangerously speeding through a narrow regional road.

With the Melba Highway closed to repair damage from recent landslips, trucks have been forced to use alternative roads that 3AW Drive host Jacqui Felgate described as “not fit for purpose”.

Fiona, who lives in the area, said on 3AW that she was worried plans diverting traffic around the local area weren’t fit for purpose.

“It is exceptionally concerning,” she said.
