Local Bright footballer kicks match winner on ‘Katy Perry wing’ – and he liked it

A regional footballer playing in his 400th game has sensationally kicked a goal after the siren to win a match.

Paul Harrison booted the match winner for United Bright Football Club on what’s being called the Katy Perry side of Pioneer Park after the US pop superstar performed at a bushfire relief concert in 2020.

Harrison is also a coach of the senior team, taking him off in the final term to address his players ahead of their match.

“I went back and thought ‘this was going to be either a nightmare or fairytale,” he told 3AW Breakfast.
