Liberal MP Bill Tilley in the clear after initially refusing to provide documentation on parliamentary allowance
State Liberal MP Bill Tilley is in the clear after he initially refused to cooperate with an investigation into the use of a controversial allowance.
The parliamentary audit committee launched a review into the controversial second residence allowance after it was revealed former speaker Telmo Languiller and former deputy speaker Don Nardella claimed tens of thousands of dollars to live at the beach.
The Benambra MP told investigators he would not provided the relevant documentation, citing privacy reasons.
He told 3AW News he had ‘absolutely nothing to hide’ and gave the audit committee what ‘any reasonable person’ would provide.
Mr Tilley has since provided the documents needed.
