Les Twentyman ‘very concerned’ by new TV series
Prominent Melbourne youth worker Les Twentyman says he’s extremely worried about the potential impact of upcoming TV series Romper Stomper.
He fears it will lead to further problems with minority groups in Melbourne.
The program centres around clashes between extreme political groups and their attitudes towards ethnic groups.
“What it does is legitimises these faction groups that are very tunnel-visioned,” Mr Twentyman said on 3AW.
He said the relationship with sections of the African community was already “fragile” and the show would only further strain it.
“It’s very concerning,” he said.
