Leigh Matthews slams ‘astounding and embarrassing’ way the AFL treats umpires

Leigh Matthews has slammed the AFL after finding out how the league treats its umpires.

Caroline Wilson spoke on Footy Classified about how AFL umpires don’t have a permanent ground to train on, with Matthews labelling the treatment “astounding and embarrassing”.

“The look of it is just terrible for the game, I find it hard to believe that this is the fact,” he said to Sam McClure on 3AW’s Wide World of Sports.
