Leigh Matthews has offered a different perspective on the AFL and Friday night’s controversial umpiring calls involving Jeremy Cameron.

It comes after Matthew Lloyd called for the league to address both incidents.

But Matthews said he understood why the AFL didn’t want to come out and “slay” their own officials.
