Leigh Matthews’ idea to properly recognise the best defender in the competition

Leigh Matthews has an idea that will give the game’s best defenders more credit and recognition.

It has always been a topic of discussion amongst the footy community and Matthews believes the league has to have an award for defenders.

“We need something to give defenders more recognition,” Matthews said on 3AW Football.
