The Australian Medical Association is backing a ban on the advertising of sun tanning products as sun safety advocates worry about the damage being caused.

President of the Australian Medical Association, Professor Steve Robson, says the attempt by social media influencers to reverse decades of of sun-safe messaging, such as slip slop slap, is “incredible”.

“I’m really concerned that all of the public health work that has been done by professions for decades now that protects people from these self-inflicted harms …  we now have people profiting from making you ill,” he told Ross and Russ.
