Leading athletics coach says Rio Olympics will not be clean
A leading athletics coach says the Rio de Janeiro Olympics will not be clean.
Russia has come under fire for systematic doping in athletics, but Nic Bideau of the Melbourne Track Club has told Sports Today he’s sure more countries are involved.
Bideau, who used to coach Cathy Freeman, said the sport’s governing body needs to take a stand.
‘If they don’t put Russia out of the Olympic Games, you suspect this thing might happen again,’ he said on Tuesday.
Bideau said he thinks athletics is ‘in a good space’ when it comes to doping in Australia.
