LATEST: Man with a gun arrested in CBD

A man with a gun has been arrested in Melbourne’s CBD.

Caller Jeff alerted 3AW Afternoons to the incident at the corner of Bourke and Swanston streets on Friday afternoon.

Victoria Police said the man was taken into custody without incident.

“Police located a man with a firearm inside the foyer of a commercial property on Bourke Street just after 11am and he was taken into custody without further incident,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

“Police are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Nobody was injured.
