Latest City of Melbourne motion slammed as ‘kindergarten level foreign-policy making’
A decision by the City of Melbourne to table a motion to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war has been slammed as “kindergarten level foreign-policy making”.
Co-chief executive officer of the executive council of Australian Jewry, Alex Ryvchin, says the council’s decision is “exactly what you’d expect”.
“You look at the text of the resolution they call for a ceasefire … the real issue is, why is a council weighing into a foreign-policy issue when what it does will have zero impact?” He told Tom Elliott.
