LATEST: Almost all of Victoria’s COVID-19 restrictions lifted
Almost all of Victoria’s COVID-19 restrictions were lifted at midnight for fully vaccinated people.
Daniel Andrews made the announcement on Thursday.
It comes with news 90 per cent of Victorians aged 12+ are expected to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of the weekend, the Premier said.
“It’s quite an amazing achievement,” he said.
There are no longer be caps on how many people can visit your home, nor any density limits at pubs, cafes and restaurants.
Dance floors can re-open.
30,000 fully vaccinated people can attend outdoor events.
The Boxing Day Test and Australian Open will be able to operate at full crowd capacity.
Masks will remain in “high risk” settings, such as hospitals and aged care.
They will also be required in retail settings for “hopefully just a few more weeks” according to the Premier.
Close contacts will also no longer be required to quarantine, provided they test negative to COVID-19.
