Lack of spin at WACA exposing Lyon

Damien Fleming and John Emburey think the English batsman have figured out how to play Nathan Lyon at the WACA.

Lyon averages 52 a wicket at the oval, and so far has failed to make the ball spin.

Finishing day one 0/61, Emburey says the English batsman have come out with intent.

“On this pitch where it hasn’t spun, they have looked to get on top of him,” he said.

“As good as the fast bowlers are for Australia, if Nathan Lyon doesn’t make a contribution, how much more they are exposed.”

Fleming believes the lack of spin at the WACA was another factor for Mitch Marsh’s conclusion.
