‘Know what I’m going to get’: Why hotels are a better travel option than Airbnb

Shane McInnes admits the constant add-on fees attached onto Airbnb properties are a turn off when deciding where to stay on holidays.

Airbnb’s rise in recent years has been rapid, as travellers look for an alternative option to the traditional hotel or apartment.

But while it was once cheaper than a hotel, Shane says the extra fees make hotels more convenient in his eyes.

“I like the convenience and surety of a hotel,” he said on 3AW Afternoons.

“The room price is there and I know what I’m going to get. With Airbnb, the fees are a turn off in the first instance.”
