Kew East house destroyed by fire

A house backing onto the Eastern Freeway at Kew East has gone up in flames.

MFB crews were first called to the Meldrum Street home shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

All occupants got out unharmed.

It took 40 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
