Kelly O’Dwyer says superannuation policy will be ‘grandfathered’, won’t penalise those with existing savings

?Assistant Treasurer Kelly O’Dwyer has assured voters those with healthy superannuation packages won’t be taxed retrospectively.

Ms O’Dwyer joined Tom Elliott in studio on Wednesday.

The Turnbull Government has come under scrutiny for its proposed overhaul of the superannuation policy, with claims it will penalise those who have saved more than $1.6 million.

But Ms O’Dwyer said the new rules would not impact those with money already saved.

‘No, we’re not going back and saying to those people you have to pay additional taxes as a result of that ? absolutely not,’ she declared on 3AW Drive.

‘It is grandfathered.’
