Journalist Rebecca Wilson dies aged 54

Leading sports journalist Rebecca Wilson has died following a battle with cancer.

Rebecca was a trailblazing reporter working across newspaper, television and radio for more than 20-years.

Broadcaster Alan Jones has paid tribute to his dear friend.

‘Early today, just after midnight, Rebecca filed her final copy, she passed away peacefully at home, I was going to say, which I guess, you always say in circumstances like this, that there are no words that can adequately fill the void.’

She is survived by her two sons and her partner John Hartigan.

Rebecca Wilson was just 54.
