Josh Frydenberg calls on the Prime Minister and Premier to ‘get serious’ in stamping out anti-Semitism
One of Australia’s most high profile members of the Jewish community, Josh Frydenberg, has called on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan to “get serious” in stamping out anti-Semitism.
The former federal treasurer told Jacqui Felgate the synagogue firebombing in Ripponlea last Friday is a wake up call for the political leaders to “get off their backsides and do something”.
“Are they going to wait until someone tragically loses their life?” Frydenberg said.

“What’s really important in this debate is to recognise that while the Jewish community is being singled out, and is left vulnerable and alone, we’re actually seeing an attack on all Australians,” he said.
“It’s not good enough, it’s simply not good enough, and that’s why I want to see from the Prime Minister and the Premier, less words, more action, and a laser like focus on stamping out this anti-Semitism.”
