Sydney coach John Longmire says Damien Hardwick earned the right to decide when his coaching tenure would finish.

Longmire reacted to the Richmond coach’s shock exit from the caper this week on 3AW on Friday night.

He also detailed some of the new pressures on AFL coaches that didn’t exist when he first started.
