John Howard hits back at claims he ‘capitalised’ on Port Arthur massacre

Former Prime Minister John Howard has hit back at claims he’s using the anniversary of the Port Arthur massacre to lobby for stricter gun laws.

Cross-bench senator Ricky Muir said last week Mr Howard and others were trying to ‘capitalise’ on the 20th anniversary of the massacre.

But the former leader told Neil Mitchell on Monday the comments were ‘foolish’.
