John Farnham undergoing surgery after cancer diagnosis

John Farnham has been diagnosed with cancer.

The iconic singer’s family have confirmed he has been admitted to hospital this morning for surgery and ongoing care after a cancerous growth was recently discovered.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford said the surgery was scheduled to begin shortly before 8am.

In a statement issued on behalf of the family, the 73-year-old said he’s grateful for the high-quality healthcare available to him.

“We have the very best specialist healthcare professionals in Victoria, and we can all be grateful for that. I know I am,” he said.
