Jobe Watson to step away from Essendon captaincy
Jobe Watson has removed himself as a candidate for Essendon’s captaincy in 2017.
Sportsday’s newsbreaker Mitch Cleary has revealed Watson informed the club late last week that he doesn’t want the job this season.
Mitch said the race is down to two.
Tony Shaw said it would be the right decision.
‘He doesn’t need the title,’ Shaw said.
‘He’s a leader. He’s shown that over his whole career.’
