Jewellery stores across Melbourne are introducing all sorts of strict security measures in an attempt to stop the spate of smash and grabs.

Catanach’s on High Street, Armadale, does not let anybody in the store unless they’re buzzed in through a secure door.

‘You now have to ring a bell and we’ll let you in if we want to,’ the shop owner told 3AW Drive.
