Jeff Kennett weighs in on proposed legalisation of cannabis

Former Liberal Premier of Victoria, Jeff Kennett, has looked back at the time his government looked at legalisation of cannabis.

He says he doesn’t know if he’d change the laws today, saying his view back in 1996 came by learning about the impact overuse of the drug has on people.

“I, by the time he (Dr David Penington) finished his report, had got a lot more experiences about what happens to people who overuse … cannabis, or get access to cannabis that is not pure,” he told Neil Mitchell.
