Former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett has launched a stinging attack on Malcolm Turnbull, declaring he will never vote for him as Prime Minister.

The level of division with Liberal ranks was plain as Mr Kennett threw his support behind Tony Abbott by slamming Mr Turnbull.

‘This is the act of a terribly selfish individual,’ he said directly after the spill was announced.
