A group of teens were seen brawling and armed with machetes at the Carols at Dendy Park in Brighton on Tuesday night.

One young man was taken to hospital by an ambulance after being injured and police chased machete-wielding youths through the streets with families having to get out of the way.

All three offenders have been released on bail, which has put the pressure on the government to implement harsher rules for youth offenders.

3AW Drive host Jacqui Felgate says the problem Victoria has with youth crime is “ridiculous” and becoming a  “shitshow.”

“We’ve reached a new low in Melbourne, stabbing and machetes at Christmas carols, teens running around with knives,” Felgate said on 3AW Drive.

Krystal was with her four-year-old child and witnessed the brawl joined 3AW Drive to provide further details on the worrying incident.

“Why are we going to a family friendly event having fear instilled in us that something is going to go wrong,” Krystal said on 3AW Drive.
