Jacinta Allan’s pointed message to those calling for SRL to be cancelled

Premier Jacinta Allan remains steadfast in her belief that the Suburban Rail Loop will be built, directing questions on the cost to cancel the project to opposition leader Brad Battin.

New reports in recent days have revealed billions of dollars in compensation would have to be paid if work was halted.

Speaking on 3AW Mornings, Ms Allan says some people would be surprised about the amount of construction which has already taken place.

“We’re building the Suburban Rail Loop,” she said on 3AW.

“And anyone who lives in the corridor where the works are underway, they know there’s already a huge amount of work (going on).

“Any question of the cost of not building it needs to be put to the Liberal Party and (opposition leader) Brad Battin.”
