Jacinta Allan slams ‘abhorrent’ increase in anti-Semitism as multicultural commissioner’s online posts come into question
Jacinta Allan has slammed anti-Semitism in the wake of a fire-bombed synagogue telling Tom Elliott she’s concerned by the alarming increase in attacks.
She’s also revealed she’s aware of offensive online posts regarding Jewish people by Victorian multicultural commissioner, Mohamed Mohideen.
“Everyone in a position of leadership has a responsibility and has to think very carefully how they exercise that leadership and so I’ve asked for some … information,” she said.

She’s also defended the government’s position on gas, saying while gas has a role in the state’s power supply as they transition to renewables, it will be cheaper for homes to use electricity.
“Gas has a role to play, that’s why a few months ago, we approved for the first time in 10 years, a gas project in the south-west of the state,” she said.
