The bushfire in the Grampians is expected to burn for weeks with Premier Jacinta Allan confirming 75,000 hectares have been burnt since December 16.

She’s told 3AW Mornings interstate teams have been called in to help fight the fires and thanked residents and the emergency responders.

“People in the fire area were told to evacuate, to leave, and they did and that means lives have been saved,” she said.

The Premier has also defended a 79 per cent price hike to the parking levy

“This is a changed arrangement that brings this levy in line with Sydney, it’s a measure that we know can get cars off the road,” she added.
