The Cheltenham Secondary College jacket features an Indigenous flag on one arm and a gay pride flag on the other arm.
Neil Mitchell has been told parents who objected to their children wearing the flags unpicked them, only to have their children told they were breaching the school’s uniform policy.
Penny, whose son attends the school, says hardly any students wear the jacket.
“It’s not compulsory to wear the jacket, it’s an additional, but they aren’t allowed to black out the flag,” she told Neil Mitchell.
“I think … it’s disgusting. It’s not right,” she said.
Cheltenham Secondary College’s assistant principal declined to comment on the matter.
