‘It’s just laziness’: Why Tom Elliott has slammed the ‘hypocritical’ City of Yarra

Tom Elliott has taken the City of Yarra to task for “hypocrisy” to start off his 3AW Mornings program on Thursday.

It comes after his local council passed a motion a few weeks ago wanting to battle global climate change, but the 3AW Mornings host “couldn’t believe it” when he walked past Fitzroy Town Hall this morning.

“I can’t stand it when we’re told to do something, and yet the people who tell us to do it, do the exact opposite,” he said.

Councillor at the City of Yarra, Stephen Jolly, then reacted to the situation at hand later in the program.

“It’s unbelievable,” he said.

“It’s probably the most hypocritical council in Australia right now.”
