Italy overtakes China’s coronavirus death toll

More people in Italy have now died from the coronavirus than in China.

Another 427 people in Italy died of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing Italy’s total death toll from the pandemic to 3405.

This compares to a death toll of 3245 in China, which recorded just 11 deaths on Thursday.

Worldwide, 9982 people have died of the virus.
