Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley has defended Australian Open’s dynamic ticket model, which sees prices flucate based on real-time demand.

The system has drawn criticism in recent days, with prices rising dramatically for select high-demand sessions at the tournament.

“It is driven by fan demand,” Tiley told Sam McClure on Wide World of Sports.

“”It works really well – some (sessions) where it’s pretty open and you can get the base ticket price and come in. This week you could spend $19 and get a grounds pass (over four separate days).”
