We love this! A retired newsreader has saved the day at a local footy game in Tasmania at the weekend after technical problems saw a recording of the national anthem fail to play before the grand final.

Enter Peter Gee!

He was the ground announcer at the game and rather than force the players to wait and wait, he sprung into action and sung the anthem himself, with vision since going viral!

“It was a one-off! You’re not going to see a repeat – or hear one!” Peter Gee told 3AW.
