Injury-plagued Clay Smith announces retirement
Clay Smith has retired.
He’s played his last game for the Western Bulldogs at the age of just 25.
The forward has consistently battled knee problems his entire career.
He played 55 games in his seven years with the club, including the 2016 premiership.
“I’ve given everything to try to make it back this season, but unfortunately it hasn’t worked out the way I would’ve liked,” Smith said.
