Independent MP blasts Peter Dutton’s ‘fantasy’ nuclear plan as ‘crazy’

Independent MP Dr Monique Ryan has blasted the opposition leader Peter Dutton’s nuclear plan as simply a “fantasy”.

Mr Dutton unveiled a national nuclear plan on Wednesday, with Gippsland earmarked as a potential location for a plant in Victoria.

“It’s just fantasy,” Dr Ryan told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

“This is a crazy way for Peter Dutton to keep the lights on with coal.”

On the flipside, Shadow Home Affairs minister James Patterson says his party is simply trying to seek a mandate from the Australian public ahead of the next election.
