Increase in odometer crime leaving Victorian’s ripped off
There are reports of increased odometer tampering crimes with the VACC saying customers and dealerships are being ripped off.
Chief executive of the VACC, Geoff Gwilym, says the crime has been around for years leaving people buying cars with odometers much higher than advertised.
“What it means, is we get cars that go into the market, and sometimes even ealerships end up buying these cars that have got wound back clocks, and it causes a whole lot of problems,” he told Tony Moclair.
