Independent Senator for Victoria Lidia Thorpe has been on the end of abuse and threats, especially from neo-Nazi’s, who tagged her in a video of a neo-Nazi burning an Aboriginal flag.

Senator Thorpe has called on the Prime Minister and the Victorian and Australian Federal Police to “do their job” as she no longer feels safe in her own home.

“I’m still at risk, I can’t go to the shop, I’m locked in my house as we speak and can’t leave my house because my life is under threat,” she told Neil Mitchell.

“It’s about the Voice, it’s about silencing my voice,” Senator Thorpe said.

“I question why I’m being treated differently to other senators who’ve been in this situation.”
