Iconic TV series Neighbours to end after 37 seasons
Iconic Aussie soap Neighbours will finish up after 37 seasons as production company Fremantle failed to find a new broadcaster.
Production will cease in June and won’t be aired on current broadcaster 10 Peach beyond September.
The long-running serial has been broadcaster on Australian screens since 1985, lasting nearly 9000 episodes.
It’s one of the most successful Australian TV shows of all time.
However, it’s future was thrown into doubt when UK broadcaster channel 5 decided to pull it’s funding and concentrate on home-grown dramas instead.
Fremantle confirmed the news in a statement on Thursday afternoon.
