Iconic rock album named Australia’s greatest ever record
AC/DC’s iconic rock album Back In Black has been ranked the greatest Australian album of all-time by Rolling Stone Australia.
The music magazine has listed its top 200.
THE TOP TEN
- AC/DC – Back in Black
- INXS – Kick
- John Farnham – Whispering Jack
- Cold Chisel – East
- Midnight Oil – Diesel and Dust
- Silverchair – Frogstomp
- Crowded House – Crowded House
- The Avalanches – Since I Left You
- Savage Garden – Savage Garden
- Kylie Minogue – Fever
Australian radio icon Barry Bissell, who hosted Take 40 Australia for two decades, said the pointy-end of the list was hard to fault.
“I think the top 20 was a no-brainer,” he said on 3AW.
“All of those I couldn’t fault – running order, maybe.”
However, he listed Richard Clapton and Hunters & Collectors as artists who had been unlucky to not have more representation on the list.
