Iconic Block Arcade business forced to close its doors

A small business, which has been in the iconic Block Arcade for more than 75 years, is being forced to close its doors.

Lisa Brener, owner of Dafel Dolls & Bears told Tom Elliot she’s being forced out because her landlord has doubled her rent in recent years.

“It’s literally made it impossible for us to stay in here now,” Lisa said.

“We’ve been told if we cannot afford it, we need to go.

“After 77 years, we are leaving.”
