‘I don’t think it’s fair’: Ambulance Union Secretary defends paramedics at centre of COVID-19 wake

The Secretary of the Ambulance Union has defended the paramedics at the centre of the COVID-19 wake, claiming they had the permission of their superiors to attend.
Danny Hill told 3AW Drive, senior management claimed they were allowed to approve the gathering.
“They swear senior management were there and gave approval for them to be there, so I don’t think it’s fair that the paramedics themselves are targeted,” he said.

He’s also accused the organisation of looking for a scapegoat.
“That’s classic AV, they look for a scapegoat at a lower level rather than senior managers taking accountability,” he added.
