Hunt for duo who knocked a man unconscious on a Richmond street

Police are searching for two thugs who snuck up behind a man and struck him in the head, knocking him out in a Richmond street last Saturday.

The 28-year-old victim was standing at the corner of Church and Lesney streets on February 19 when he was approached from behind by two unknown males at about 9.20pm.

The pair hit the man in the head, knocking him unconscious, then fled on foot.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 22-year-old St Kilda man has been interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

Investigators are hoping to speak to the occupants of a white 2015 Toyota Camry (pictured below) who may have witnessed the violent incident.
