Huge disparity in Melbourne petrol prices explained
Tom Elliott noticed a huge difference in petrol prices across Melbourne on Thursday.
While some outlets were offering around $1.85 per litre, other customers were being slugged over $2.20 per litre depending on where the petrol station was.

CEO of the Australian Convenience and Petroleum Marketers Mark McKenzie explained why prices differed so much from outlet to outlet.
“This is the petrol price cycle now moving,” he said on 3AW Drive.
“If we follow the usual cycle practice, you’ll see the (price of petrol) at a vast majority of service stations will go up in the next four or five days. There’s bargains out there.”
