How Victoria’s road budget is falling short for cyclists

Experts are calling for improved infrastructure to allow Melburnians who want to walk or cycle to do so more freely and safely.

President of BikeWest, Dr John Symons, says a larger part of the Victorian road budget should be used to improve and connect bike routes for accessibility.

“We have some isolated stretches of extremely good infrastructure which are absolutely fantastic but the gaps between them are too big and too dangerous, so people won’t ride the whole distance,” he told Neil Mitchell.
