How to lift Victoria’s organ donation registration rate

The state opposition has floated a plan to help boost rates of organ donation in Victoria.

And it appears to have bipartisan support.

Victoria has the lowest registration rate of all states.

Shadow Health Minister Mary Wooldridge told Neil Mitchell the licence register no longer existed.

“It was removed some years ago because there used to be state based registries and it moved to a national system and it didn’t flow through,” she said.

“Lots of people think they’re already registered but they’re not.”
