How Neil Mitchell became Seb Costello’s radio mentor!

Seb Costello, filling in for Dee Dee on 3AW Afternoons this week, has lifted the lid on how he got his start in radio!

And a big part of it was due to our very own Neil Mitchell, who was the only one to respond to multiple letters he sent out.

“The only person that responded was Neil Mitchell, here at 3AW,” Seb said on 3AW Afternoons.

“Who wrote back and offered me the opportunity to come and work on his program – unpaid, as it was in those days – that’s how you get your foot in the door.

“But that was now fourteen years ago, and I worked for Neil for five years … and it was Neil’s guidance and encouragement hat actually shaped me professionally.”
