How Melbourne’s CBD has continued to bounce back this winter

There’s good news for Melbourne’s CBD traders as new data reveals the sharp increase in consuming spending during this winter.

Figures released by Square show a 5.6 per cent increase in transactions at city venues, as customers return to the city around major events.

Australian Venue Co Paul Waterson says he’s noticed the increase at the venues he owns.

“We’ve seen a pretty gradual recovery in the last three or four years,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“The climate has been better than a couple of years gone by and that helps as well, we’ve had a good footy season and other (major event) experiences.”
